Are you well transmitting your own vibrations and fully perceiving the movements of external waves from the others?
Birds chirp to communicate with each other, robots exchange information using electronic signals, and humankind attempts to converse each other with human languages. Besides of that, not only the linguistic differences between humans and non-humans, human language varies in its expressions based on various characteristics such as nationality, race, physical/mental disabilities, and age. Do we well enough transmit our own vibrations, and amply sense and perceive the movements of external waves? The "Ground of Vibration" suggests that all living beings, including humans, animals, plants, nature, and even robots, communicate through the one of the original features of language, which is 'vibration.' This idea goes beyond the limitations of individual languages and proposes an alternative way of communication between humans and non-humans.
The inception of this project is based in dreaming of the simplest resonance where all intersecting surfaces meet at their boundaries. The first prototype showcase of the long-term project "Ground of Vibration," which will continue in various sizes and methods, will be presented at three different boundaries of terrain and water in Seoul city including indoor and outdoor. Above all, this project imagines the playground that Heeju Kim would like to create for all. (written by Heeju Kim)
